Back to the Future Predicts 2015 World Series?

Earlier this year my husband and I decided to watch an old movie we hadn't seen in awhile - Back to the Future. It's always fun to re-watch movies you loved as a kid. 80's movies are especially great because of the wild clothing and hair styles. We really got a kick out of the fact that my husband wears the same shoes as Marty McFly did back in 1985!

We also thought it was cool that Marty traveled to 2015 - this year! - and the date he came to visit was October 21 - this Wednesday! Here is the picture I took of my TV screen:

In the movie, the Chicago Cubs won the 2015 World Series. My husband is from Chicago and is a die-hard White Sox fan. (In case you don't know about the White Sox/Cubs rivalry, if you're from Chicago you root for one team and you despise the other). Needless to say, he wasn't thrilled that they picked the Cubs to be the 2015 champions. And now that 2015 has rolled around, every Cubs fan is loving that the Cubs are still in the running. The Cubs winning the World Series would absolutely ruin 2015 in our house, so I keep reassuring my husband that there's no possible way the movie industry predicted the outcome of the Word Series 30 years ago. At least, they better not have!
