Ordering

Orders can be placed in one of two ways:

Online - You may order online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our site uses strong SSL Encryption software and is monitored daily by McAfee Secure to ensure that your information is remains safe and will not be compromised.

Phone - To order by phone, call us toll free at 800-551-5953. Our normal hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.

Please note that we are closed on the following holidays:
  • New Year's Day (observed)
  • President's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • July 4th
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving and the day after
  • Christmas Eve Day through the New Year's Day holiday (will reopen Wednesday, January 2, 2013)

Shipping & Delivery Options

We strive to process and fulfill all orders within one to two business days (currently shipping in 2 business days). Expected transit time after your order has left our studio is to be determined by the shipping carrier (UPS or USPS) and is based on the selected delivery method. Order Status & Tracking
To check the status of an order you have already placed, please visit Order Status. A UPS or USPS tracking number is included with every order (international orders excluded). Tracking numbers are automatically generated and e-mailed to our customers using the address we have on file. To monitor the delivery status of your order, you may use this tracking number at UPS Online or USPS Online.

If you did not receive an automatic shipment confirmation for your order, please check your spam or junk mail folder before contacting us.

Returns & Exchanges

To make a return, please contact us within 30 days of shipment to request a Return Authorization (RA) number. Products must be unused, in factory new condition and returned in their original packaging. For eligible exchanges of equal or greater value, the restocking fee will be waived.

Ineligible Items
Please note that special ordered items, special order quantities, engraved items, custom switch plates, decorative switch plates, installed devices, installed switchplates and items damaged after receipt are ineligible for return or exchange.

Kyle Design is unlike your typical store. Because we specialize in an unusual assortment of home hardware and decorative gift items, a wide range of questions can come up. We try to include as much product information as possible on our site, though we understand the importance of ordering exactly what you need and selecting the perfect gift options.

KYLE DESIGN'S TEN MOST POPULAR FAQs

1. How do I place an order online?

First, if you are on a broad category page (e.g. Night Lights) and see many different items with prices, click on the item you are interested in. This will take you to the Product Page where you can order it. Once on the Product Page, you can find more details about the item and also customize it. Kyle Design makes all decorative items to order, so you must select all options from the drop down menus (located between the orange "Add To Cart" buttons) to add an item to your shopping cart.

    Browse Our Designs: Enlarge the Design Charts at left on the Product Page to view available designs, making note of which category (Animals and Pet, Food and Nature, etc.) your preferred design is in.
    Select Your Design: In the first drop down menu, select a category at left, then a design at right. (Ex. Click Sports at left, then a list of our Sports designs will show in the menu at right.)
    Choose Metal Finish: Most items are available in your choice of silver or gold finish.
    Other Options: There may be additional features - size, package quantity, item depth, mirrors, beads, etc. - that may need to be selected as well.
    Add To Cart: Once you have made all of your selections, click on the orange "Add To Cart" button.
    Check Out: When the item is in your cart, you may continue shopping for more items or click the orange "Checkout" box to complete your order.

2. What are the costs for shipping?

For most orders shipped within the US, we offer standard ground delivery at a flat rate of $7.95 with UPS as our preferred carrier. For estimated delivery times, click the UPS transit map below for the approximate shipping time expected for your order.

If you're needing your item(s) in a hurry, we also offer three expedited shipping options:

3 Day Air, starting at $19.95 and $2.00 per additional item
2 Day Air, starting at $27.95 and $3.00 per additional item
Next Day Air, starting at $60.95 and $6.00 per additional item

UPS Ground Time-In-Transit Map

For international orders and PO box addresses, your order will be shipped via USPS.

Your shipping cost includes a tracking number for your package as well as basic insurance to protect against damaged or lost goods. All items are shipped in a box to protect the integrity of our products. For additional information regarding shipping costs, please see our Shipping Policy.

3. Will you charge sales tax on my order?

Sales taxes are charged on all orders delivered within California only. No sales taxes are collected on orders shipped to any other state.

4. If I have my item engraved, will it delay my order?

No. Orders with engraved items are not delayed and are usually processed within our 1 to 2 business day time frame. Because our engraving is done in-house, we are able to engrave our items efficiently and accurately; we try to fulfill bulk quantity orders of engraved items within this timeframe as well.

5. How can I track the status of my order?

After creating an account with Kyle Design, you may track all orders (past and present) and view a detailed history of each order. Follow these steps:

  1. Click TRACK ORDER at the top of any page.
  2. Enter the username and password you created for your Kyle Design account.
  3. A complete history of your Kyle Design purchases will be available to view. Click any order number to review the details and status of that purchase.
  4. If your order has shipped, a tracking number will be included in the order notes. This tracking number can be used at UPS Online to track the delivery status of your order.
If you have not previously created an account with Kyle Design, you may still track your order using a UPS tracking number. Once an order has shipped, this number is automatically generated and e-mailed to the address we have on file. To monitor the delivery status of your order, you may use this number at UPS Online.

Orders that are shipped via USPS will also include a tracking number. This number can be used at USPS Online to monitor the delivery status of your order. Please note that international orders do not include a tracking number and cannot be tracked online.

6. Can I cancel, add to or change an order I've already placed?

Because we strive to fulfill all orders within 1 to 2 business days (3 to 4 business days during the holiday season), we cannot guarantee that changes to your order can be accommodated. Once an order has been sent to processing, it cannot be cancelled. If your order has not yet been fulfilled or shipped, please contact us as soon as possible to make any additions or changes and we will do our best to meet your request.

7. Can I return or exchange my purchase?

Yes. We try our best to ensure the satisfaction of all of our customers; if you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return any unused eligible*** item by requesting a Return Authorization (RA) number via email or phone. Once you have received an RA number, you must return your item back to our studio within 15 days - all RA numbers expire within two weeks. Please address your return parcel to the following:

Please note that special ordered items, engraved items, damaged pieces, installed devices, devices that are no longer in factory new condition, installed switchplates or custom switchplates are not eligible for returns or exchange credit.

8. Is the item I want to order available in stock?

We receive shipments of new inventory and products every day. Therefore, if an item is available for purchase on our website, it is most likely in stock and ready to be shipped. In the event that an item is unavailable or out of stock, you will be notified via email and we will provide you with an approximate ship date for your item(s) as soon as possible.

9. Why is my item on backorder?

If an order is placed and one or more items are unavailable to ship immediately, these items are deemed "backordered" and will ship at a later date. We will provide you with an approximate ship date for your item(s) as soon as possible. Please be aware that backorder dates are approximate and subject to change. We will inform you by e-mail if this date changes.

10. When will I receive my order?

All orders are processed within 1 to 2 business days with the exception of the holiday season, in which orders will be processed within 3 to 4 business days. Once an order has shipped, a UPS tracking number is emailed to the address we have on file. For estimated delivery times, click the UPS transit map below for the approximate shipping time expected for your order.

11. Do you have a printed Kyle Design catalog?

We offer thousands of items on our website and maintain it daily to offer the freshest selection and most up-to-date information on the products we offer. Because information and availability changes daily, we do not have a printed Kyle Design catalog.

Switch Plate Help

For help with an odd switch plate size, please provide approximate plate outside dimensions, and, if you can, describe the plate openings (shape, dimensions), rather than the devices in them. Review our Photo Glossary of Switch Plates for help determining the size, shape and opening types. It may then be easier to search the configuration pages here: Shop By Size or Configuration.

Availability & Accuracy

We try our best to calculate what quantities we should keep in stock, but customers always surprise us.

AVAILABILITY
Out of stock gift items (switchplates and electrical devices excluded) are promptly removed from the site, so if you can put it in your cart, you should be able to get it. We will contact you immediately if there is a problem with your order.

Should we need to backorder an item, we can split your order at your request and ship all in stock items. Backordered items will be shipped when available via standard ground, regardless of the shipping method selected on the original order. If you wish to upgrade the shipping on a backorder, you may do so at your expense.

ACCURACY
We make every effort to ship your order accurately, however mistakes do happen from time to time. In these situations, we will promptly ship you the correct item via ground shipping with a return mailer for any incorrect items you received. However, we do not make any guarantees, express or implied, about when your order will arrive or what it will contain. We are not responsible for any losses on your part if items do not arrive as expected. Furthermore, we will not refund original shipping costs.

UPS does not deliver on weekends or holidays. The shipping dates listed do not allow room for delays caused by UPS seasonal volume, errors or weather, so please choose the shipping method and lead time with which you feel most comfortable.

Above delivery dates do not apply to orders shipping via the USPS (P.O. Boxes, standard to AK & HI) or to international addresses. Please allow extra time. UPS requires a physical street address for deliveries.

UPS does not reimburse shipping for weather-caused delays. Once your order leaves our facility, we are not financially responsible for reimbursement of merchandise or shipping costs related to shipping delays or carrier errors as we have fulfilled our obligations. If we need to make a delivery claim on your behalf with UPS or the USPS, you must allow eight business days for a claim investigation.
