How do I install this blank switch plate to cover over a receptacle to prevent tampering?
First turn off the power to your outlet from your electrical panel. Next, remove the current cover plate, then remove the screws that are holding the device in the wall box. To remount, place the deep blank cover plate over the outlet. Screw through the plate into the mounting holes at the top and bottom of the outlet. Then align the screws in this plate-and-outlet unit with those in the wall box. Screw back into place, then restore power. Note: Typical device screws have unfinished heads, so you may prefer getting extra long screws for this application that match the finish of your wall plate.
