What does the Vortex design represent?
A vortex is found in nature as a spiraling motion of fluid around a center. Often seen in a draining sink or bathtub when the water spirals into a circular tunnel as it goes down the drain. The vortex design is Kyle's attempt at capturing this force of nature with a contemporary design.

I'd like to get some oversized vortex switch plates to cover paint build up that has become a problem around my switch plates. Are these available?

We are remodeling our kitchen and installing a mosaic tile back splash. Will we need longer screws to mount the decorative switch plates?
Longer screws are often needed in these applications because the electrical box is mounted behind the deep material and the receptacle is in front of it. The standard screw length for rocker and Despard switch plate openings is 1/4", the standard screw length for all other switch plate openings (toggle, outlet, blank, cable, etc.) is 1/2". Take a quick look at your setup or check with the installer to confirm. We do have extra long screws available for just such installation situations if you should need them.
