What is this design modeled after?
When creating this antique Art Deco design Kyle was mainly influenced by the beautiful Art Deco spire of the Chrysler Building in New York. It is also reminiscent of the breathtaking Terracotta sunburst design above the doors in the Eastern Columbia Building in Los Angeles. The asymmetrical curves and linear symmetry of this design call upon the antique characteristics of Art Deco jewelry, architecture and artwork.

What does Antique Art Deco symbolize?
To Kyle, Antique Art Deco is the epitome of old Hollywood glamor, elegance and modernity. This is why she wanted to create a piece of art paying homage to its beauty. Unlike other artistic movements, Art Deco had no political agenda and was strictly decorative, allowing it to dominate all areas of design including interior design, architectural design and graphic design.

What are the main characteristics of Antique Art Deco Fans designs?
When designing her Antique Art Deco piece, Kyle kept in mind the thin forms, geometric patterns and curves which are representative of this era. These designs are comparable to Egyptian motifs which many believe were influenced by the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922. Antique Art Deco is a very sleek style which influenced the era's buildings, graphics, arts and jewelry.

What motivated Kyle to create an Antique Art Deco Fans design?
As an artist and art patron, Kyle regularly attends local art shows for inspiration. Many of Kyle's architectural designs are influenced by a variety of art movements, included the Art Deco era. The Art Deco movement originated in Paris in the 1930s and continued to flourish during the 1930s. We are remodeling our kitchen and installing slab counter-tops. Will we need longer screws to mount the decorative switch plates?
Longer screws are often needed in these applications because the electrical box is mounted behind the deep material and the receptacle is in front of it. Take a quick look at your setup or check with the installer to confirm. We do have extra long screws available for just such installation situations if you should need them.
