We are remodeling our kitchen and installing granite counter tops and back splash. Are the standard length screws long enough to install the switch plates on the raised surface?
Longer screws are often needed in these applications because the electrical box is mounted behind the deep material and the receptacle is in front of it. The standard screw length for rocker and Despard openings is 1/4", the standard screw length for all other openings (toggle, outlet, blank, cable, etc.) is 1/2". Take a quick look at your setup or check with the installer to confirm. We do have extra long screws available for installation on raised surfaces if you should need them.
