We are installing a tile back splash in our kitchen, and I think I may need longer screws to install these mission wall plates. How do I know if I need longer screws?
Longer screws are often needed in these applications because the electrical box is mounted behind the deep material and the receptacle is in front of it. The standard screw length for rocker and Despard switch plate openings are 1/4". The standard screw length for all other switch plate openings (toggle, outlet, blank, cable, etc.) is 1/2". Take a quick look at your setup or check with the installer to confirm. We do have extra long screws available for just such installation situations if you should need them.
