Is de-rating necessary?
De-rating (when 2 or more dimmers are next to each other it is important to "de-rate" or lower the wattage rating of the dimmer. This is due to the increased heat caused by the devices) is not necessary if mounted in a multi-gang dimmer installation. However, counts as a dimmer for derating dimmers adjacent to fan speed control. Requires 2 switched hot wires between control and fan.
