Only ceiling fans marked "suitable for use with solid state speed controls" may use this ceiling fan control. Recommended use for single paddle type ceiling fans only.

What is "de-rating"?
De-rating is when 2 or more dimmers are installed next to each other and cause increased heat, so you decrease the wattage rating of the dimmer to avoid dangerous overheating.

Will this fan controller need to be "de-rated"?
You will not need to derate this device if it is mounted in a multi-gang dimmer installation. However, counts as a dimmer for derating dimmers adjacent to fan speed control. 2 switch hot wires are required between control and fan.

Is this device available in satin black?
No, the manufacturer only produces this ceiling fan control in gloss.
