Narrow Antique Reproduction Push Button Light Switch Dimmers 600W
- Functionality: Narrow cut 600 Watts (limited to 400 watts) - 120 Volts single station device for incandescent lights that works with both existing and new wiring. Use this trimmed de-rated version when installing next to another dimmer or other non-mechanical on-off type switch. Clicks when pushed on or off. Weighs 2.9 ounces. Made in Taiwan.
- Technical: Use these trimmed derated dimmers when you need to mount next to another dimmer in a multi gang electrical box. Also use when installing next to an electrical device that isn't a mechanical on-off type switch such as a GFCI outlet or ceiling fan control. Trimming a dimming switch reduces the amount of wattage it can safely handle down to 400 watts. The flange or casing around the dimmer is designed to dissipate heat. When trimmed, the narrower flange limits the amount of heat that can be dissipated thereby reducing the amount of wattage the device can handle. You do not need a trimmed dimmer if mounting next to a regular switch or duplex receptacle.
- Low Voltage Lighting Systems: These dimmers will work with electronic low voltage light systems if they are installed before the transformer in the circuit. The dimmers will not work with magnetic low voltage systems.
- Important: Do NOT use on Fluorescent fixtures or fans. For permanent fixtures only. However you can use them with dimmable CF (compact fluorescent) or LED bulbs that are compatible with rheostat dimming switches.
- Which Wattage Dimmer To Choose: Add up the wattage used on the light bulbs the trimmed device will control. If the total is more than 200 watts, then choose the 600 watt (400 watt derated) dimmer. If it is less than 200 watts then the 300 watt (200 watt derated) dimmer will be adequate.
