GE Relay for Pilot Light Switches
Detailed Rating Info: Each relay employs s split low-voltage (24V) coil to move the line voltage contact armature to the ON(OFF) latched position. Pilot contact is 1A, 24 VAC isolated. Operating voltage is 24-29 VAC (10%) half or full wave rectified or pure, 30- 38 VDC (10%) filtered. Resistive load is 30A 277 V.A.C. Lamp load - 20A tungsten filament 125 VAC, 20A ballast 277 VAC. Endurance is 50,000 cycles - full load; 100,000 cycles - no load. May be used to full-rated capacity for tungsten filament, ballast, or resistive loads. This Model RR-9 includes an auxiliary contact on the low voltage side for status indication. I have a GE low voltage system in my home that was built in 1957. Some of the relays in the solenoid panel have gone bad so I need to replace them. Where can I find an original 1950's low voltage relay replacement?
Kyle Design is a current distributor and dealer of original GE brand low voltage products, such as momentary light switches, remote control relays, wall plate covers and mounting brackets. We regularly stock both of the GE manufactured solenoid relay models that are compatible with your low voltage lighting system. To replace a relay switch for your standard unlighted devices, you will most likely need the RR7 relay. For lighted devices with pilot lights, you would need an RR9 relay. If possible, we recommend looking at your current low voltage equipment for original manufacturer labels that show what relay models you have; this would help ensure that you are getting the correct replacement parts for your wiring system. The RR7 relay is considered the best replacement for original RR2, RR3 and RR5 GE relays while the the RR9 relay directly replaces discontinued RR4, RR6 and RR8 remote control relays.
