What inspired the Award Winner design?

Kyle says: "As with many families who have kids involved in sports, one can end up with shelves full of trophies, all heavy and bulky. We finally had to make a decision about my husband's swimming trophies, opting to toss them. But it struck me that it would be so much nicer to have a useful, attractive award presented to the winning competitors, whether it be for sports, academics or professional achievements. So I created a trophy alternative gift design that still acknowledges the accomplishment but is also functional. The awards statuette motif features a muscled guy grasping a star while on a retro stage aglow in beams of light."
