General Electric '50s, '60s and '70s Style Mounting Straps for Multiple Low Voltage Rocker Switches

Two gang metal bracket for holding currently manufactured replacement low voltage light switches with on and off buttons. Brackets or yokes are used in the low voltage lighting systems common in homes built in the 1950's, 1960's and 1970's. Double gang mounting strap designed to hold three or four lighting devices at a time. Mounting straps designed to hold one or two lighting devices at a time.

Important: These brackets are designed to work ONLY with our Bracket Mount Low Voltage Switch Plates. They CANNOT be used with Original Style wall plates.

50s, 60s and 70s Style GE Low Voltage Bracket Specs

• Size: Bracket is 4" wide by 3.75" high and includes 4 screws for mounting through bracket's elongated holes into electrical box. Bracket (or yoke) mounts to electrical box in the elongated screw holes shown. Switch cover plates then mount to bracket in four small round holes.
• Bracket Mount Switches: Devices snap into this bracket which then mounts behind wall plate (plates and devices not included). Fits switchplates that have .756" x 1.187" openings as demonstated in the photos at left. When mounted in a coverplate, a thin black bezel on device is visible around the edges of the openings.
• Matching Plates and Switches: These brackets can only be used with the Bracket Mount style wallplates listed here (or your originally installed two gang wallplates with three or four vertical switches oriented exactly like these). They cannot be used with any of our other low voltage plate systems. • Model Update: This series of switches and wallplates is the current replacement type for the discontinued GE RFS-6 series low voltage wiring systems used in homes built in the 50's, 60's and 70's. Note that the size of this switch is slightly larger and deeper than original devices and therefore requires a switch plate with a slightly larger opening. Based on the variety of choices that are nearly identical (see image at left), we recommend that you only buy switch plates from online vendors like us who list the exact dimensions of the faceplate device openings. If you have any questions, please call us. If possible, get the exact opening measurements first as many holes are very close in size.
