Engraving Instructions

Please follow these guidelines when selecting your custom engraving.

• Text Length: Please note, the longer the text line, the smaller the font must be. Print out your message and measure if you are not sure.
• Recommended Length: Please read product information pages for recommended text length. We allow for 60 spaces, but some curved items, such as flasks, must have shorter (about 24 character) text strings. The sixty character length is appropriate for items more than 5" wide such as checkbook holders, cigar cases, eyeglass cases, tampon cases, pencil boxes, etc.
• Capitalization: If you use all upper-case letters, plan on making your text string shorter, otherwise letters may be very crammed and difficult to read. All upper-case letters is NOT recommended with Script font.
• Font Choice: Please choose font according to how bold or understated you would like it.
  "Contemporary" font can be difficult to read on brushed finishes.
• Multiple Engraved Gifts: If ordering more than one engraved gift, please enter each item number (from shopping cart SKU) or distinguishing option (case with blue vs. case with red) in Item # or Description box so it is absolutely clear which item is to receive which engraving.
• Standard Height: Select TEXT for smaller words or initials that will be about 3/16" high. Appropriate for most engraving jobs.
• Large Height: Select MONOGRAM HEIGHT for large words or initials that will be about 1/2" high. Appropriate when there is no design in the same area.
• First Line Monogrammed: Select the correct number of lines desired but indicate "(MONOGRAM HEIGHT)" or "(MONOGRAM OVERSIZE CENTER LETTER)" in text box after initials for large words or initials that will be about 1/2" high. Appropriate when there is no design in the same area.
• Monogram Engraving Styles:
• Three Same-Size Letters: Arranged as First Name/Middle Name/Last Name order - ex. ABC.
• Oversized Centered Last Name Initial: Arranged as last name initial centered between first and middle names - First Name/Large Last Name/Middle Name. Be sure oversized last name initial is in CENTER when entering letters - ex. ACB (Letters will be center aligned).
• Text with Special Characters: Letters with special markings, for ex. accent over "e" or "a", can ONLY be engraved in Contemporary, Cursive, Gothic, or Script, although not all characters are available. (For ex., a wavy dash is NOT available in any font.) We will substitute a similar character or will contact you if none is available.
• No Engraving on Black Card Cases: Sorry, we are no longer able to engrave on black business card cases.
• Location: Gift items with designs that cover the whole front may be engraved on the BACK only.
• Engraved Logo: Click on Corporate Logo Engraving for engraved corporate logo or customer design.
• Lead Time: All engraving is done in-house. Please allow 2 business days for orders with engraving services. However, if you need a rush job, please let us know as we can normally accommodate you during non-holiday periods.

• Pricing: Gift engraving starts at $5.95 for one line. Engraving price is per item/location, so front and back are two separate engraving jobs. +$ amounts in menus ADD to base price of $5.95.
• Layout Comments: Please allow for engraver's artistic choice in layout. Please comment in Order Notes if you have a size/layout preference on any job.
• No Returns: Engraved gift items are not returnable. Enter text exactly as desired. We are not responsible for upper case/lower case or spelling errors on your part.
