During her pregnancy with her second child, Kyle was inspired to create new designs representing heritage, family and parentage. As an Irish-American, Kyle was excited to create a design symbolic of her own background, the Celtic knot. Kyle modeled her knot work after the pattern that was first used in Roman mosaics. This particular motif was most prevalent in Celtic and Christian designs and is rooted in spirituality and theology. Why is the Celtic Knot symbolic? The Celtic Knot, also known as the Mystic Knot or Endless Knot, is widely used in Celtic art and is believed to represent timelessness and the cyclical nature of life. They are also symbolic of the cross and were extensively used by ancient monks in manuscripts such as the Book of Durrowsand Book of Kells.
