Do-It-Yourself Decoupage Compact Mirrors

Craft your own beautiful compacts following these easy instructions. We show you how to make a decoupage mirror compact with Japanese origami paper.

• Supplies Needed: Blank Compact Mirror Case, regular mirror, mirror frame, origami paper or other decorative papers, adhesive paper, clear varnish, paint brush.
• Step 1: Paint surface of paper with clear varnish and allow to dry per package instructions.
• Step 2: Cut one piece of adhesive paper and another of origami paper slightly larger than frame. Peel liner off one side of adhesive paper and apply to back side of origami paper.
• Step 3: Slit adhesive paper into 1/8" strips. Peel back liner and tape to underside of mirror frame.
• Step 4: Peel liner off back of frame and press onto front of origami paper.
• Step 5: Trim excess paper from around edges of frame.
• Step 6: Peel liner off back of paper on frame. Press onto front surface of mirror case. Attach mirror inside using adhesive tape.

Tip: To hold mirror while positioning, fold over a length of tape to create a sticky loop or use a suncatcher suction cup.
