Why would someone install Despard devices today?
Easy replacement of current low voltage system, able to easily switch devices (outlet to toggle to pilot light) using the same strap and switch plate, great for narrow locations where you need to stack three devices in a narrow plate.

Can three Despard outlets be installed in a one gang switch plate?
No, up to 2. Despard plugs can only be installed in the top and bottom strap openings. Despard receptacle can't be installed in center opening.

Is it easy to install a Despard device in a strap?
Yes. Hook the tab on the strap into the slot on the Despard plug then use a screwdriver to twist the tab on the other side of the outlet down into slot to lock it into the strap.
