Kyle Design stocks replacement rheostat knobs for rotary dimmer switches.
In addition, find more complicated electrical switches such as the 3 way switch which is used for controlling one light from two locations (lights on opposite ends of a hallway, or upstairs and downstairs) and the 4 way switch which is used for controlling lights from three or more locations. Consumers are often unclear on the terminology for these devices, thinking that they are need a 2 way switch for lights, when really they require what is properly known as a 3-way switch. (A 2-way switch is a specific switch typically used for controlling motors in industrial equipment.)
Some of the more modern options for power outlets include ground fault plugs and tamper-resistant socket plugs. GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter) outlets, sometimes referred to simply as GFI outlet plugs, offer protection from electrical shock. Tamper resistant receptacles are now being required in many states for both new construction and remodels because of safety features that help protect kids and developmentally disabled adults from injury caused by inserting metal objects into sockets.
You'll also find highly specialized electrical devices at Kyle Design:
- Despard switches are modular switches, outlets and pilot lights that can be mounted up to three high in a bracket in any configuration you need - 3 switches, 2 switches plus an outlet, a pilot light switch with a lighted jewel. These narrow devices are great for tight spots.
- Low voltage lighting systems were installed in millions of houses in the second half of the twentieth century. These energy savings systems in older homes were way ahead of their time, yet many of the manufacturers have since gone out of business making upkeep of these units challenging. Kyle Design has hunted down replacement parts that will keep these lighting systems going, plus we manufacturer metal light switch plates for replacing cracked or missing wall plates.
- Push button switches are still in use in historic homes built in the first half of the 20th century. You'll find currently manufactured pushbutton light switches as well as the modern convenience of a push-button light dimmer switch, too.
Modular Jacks for Voice or Video Communication Systems
With the proliferation of computers and advanced home electronics, the need has arisen for installing modular phone and internet connectors throughout an office or home, often in just about every room. Homeowners typically want coaxial or coax cable jacks for cable TV and audio video connectors installed in every bedroom plus in common areas such as great rooms, media rooms or family rooms. Manufacturers have produced numerous solutions for retrofitting older telephone setups to accommodate communication devices including all-in-one telephone jack parts, flush mount wall phone jacks for hanging a telephone on a wall to save counter space, RJ45 Ethernet jacks with CAT5 or CAT6 plugs for modular computer systems, combination phone and cable jacks plus recessed outlet covers that have a pre-installed receptacle and HDMI connector for flat screen TV sets.Energy Saving Light Switch Devices
There are various ways to save energy with newer light switches. One is by installing light dimming controls so that one can change the light output, adjusting it to only the lighting level needed. Devices that fall into this category include basic rotary light dimmers, slide dimmer controls, or units with preset light levers. We stock a wide selection of replacement dimmer knobs for missing or broken buttons so you can actually use that dimming switch when you need it.Another way to save is to use light sensor devices or controls that are motion activated. These styles automatically provide light only when needed and include motion sensor lights, infrared lights and light activated combination hallway lights with outlets. Using illuminated rockers or lighted toggle switches may be enough to gently guide you down a darkened hallway or at least help you avoid flipping on another light just to find one of these. Pilot lights can be another big energy saver. Clear pilot lighted toggle switches are illuminated when on, thereby alerting you to the fact that out-of-sight lights or equipment have been left running. Great for pond water fountains, sump pumps, outdoor walkway lighting, etc.
Installing overhead ceiling fans can be another great way to save money on your electrical bills. Ceiling fans providing cooling at a fraction of the cost of running air conditioning units. Convenient ceiling fan controls and ceiling fan pulls make these an attractive option.
