  • Sierra Electric Switch Plates
Sierra Electric was a device and coverplate manufacturer based in Los Angeles, California. This manufacturer's line of specialty wall plates included outlet wallplates that look similar to new style Decora rocker switch plates. However, newer type Decora rocker plates don't quite fit the rectangle opening of these covers because the receptacles are taller and narrower. Plates were designed for outlets with two or three plugs.

The large block opening is 2.906" (2-29/32") high by 1.062" (1-1/16") wide and has interchangeable screw holes that are spaced 3.812" (3-13/16") apart center to center. Single receptacle wall plates have a 1-1/16" (1.312") W by 2-29/32" (1.375") H squarish opening.

Receptacle devices screw into electrical box and then wall plates mount onto the device. Plates have a clean, smooth finish without the ridges on original plates that tended to catch dirt and grime. Beveled edges.

  • Leviton Manufacturing Switch Plates
Reproduction wall plates for the discontinued Centura brand of Leviton Manufacturing electrical devices that were the precursor to their current Decora line. Plates and decor devices were manufactured from about 1965 till about 1980. Cover plates with large rectangular openings have dimensions that are slightly narrower and taller than today's standard decorator line currently in production. Square type single receptacle plates have openings that are slightly larger than those in the Sierra Electric line (also no longer manufactured).

The light switch plate that is part of this collection of specialty replacement wall plates has a rectangle opening that is taller and wider than a standard toggle switch. The opening is 1.343" (1-11/32") high by .937" (15/16") wide and has device mounting screw holes that are spaced 2.375" (2-3/8") apart center to center. The switch itself has two square buttons that push on and off.
