About Artist Kyle McKeown Mansfield
Kyle has been creating her pieces professionally since 1982. She knew even at a very young age that she wanted to grow up to be an artist (she even has it in writing from kindergarten!) so she could work with her hands and translate her ideas into tangible designs. A great experimenter and largely self-taught, she combines a strong natural sense of design with a flare for color while creating works of etched metal, iridescent film and mixed media.
She takes great pride in her quality workmanship: "I want those who own and use my works to be as excited about them as I was when I made them." She currently lives with her husband, two daughters and paper-eating dog in Northern California.
Formal Education: Kyle is an alumni of the University of California at Berkeley where she received her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business. In addition, she intensely studied Japanese throughout her college career, but opted to grow her business in lieu of staying an extra semester to complete a final class needed for a language degree. (You'll notice many Asian characters and influences throughout her collection.)
Creative Arts Education: Kyle has taken a wide variety of classes and workshops over the years, including metal forming and gemology at the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco, weaving and shibori (Japanese tie dye) at the Mendocino Art Center, as well as painting, drawing, ceramics, jewelry making, spinning, inkle loom weaving, card weaving, silk painting, silk screening, glass slumping, copper enameling and more at various arts centers throughout California.
Artistic Genes: Kyle McKeown Mansfield is a naturally prolific artist, having grown up in a family that loves creating. She is the daughter of two nationally recognized artists: the late woodworker Robert G. McKeown and ceramic/stained glass artist Lee M. McKeown.

How We Make Our Custom Gifts
Hundreds of Designs, Millions of Possibilities. In order to quickly customize your items, we make all the elements that go into your piece ahead of time. We prepare the etched and plated metal, cut the stained glass, form the aluminum or make the iridescent film and have these all available on hand when you place your order. Your gift item is then created using your selected design layered over the thin sheet of aluminum or iridescent film of your choice.
When we say personalized, we're not kidding. So how many choices are there? Just an example: Business card cases come in more than 450 designs, 40 accent colors, 4 metal finish combinations and two depths, so 450 x 40 x 4 x 2 = 144,000 choices. And that's just for one item - before adding engraving! Bottom line is, we encourage our customers to create distinctive gifts that reflect a diverse range of styles and interests.
